In the karst region of Karlukovo the Iskar River has chiselled a beautiful rock crown dotted with numerous caves and canyons, which offer a natural backdrop for adventure team building programmes. After receiving instructions about the concept of the game and safety protocols, the participants team up in groups of 8-10 people. Each team must pass through a series of challenges and collect the pieces of a puzzle, which will take the team to the final prize hidden at the end of the game.

One of the objectives for the participants in the adventure programme will be to find the entrance to a small cave, which contains further instructions for continuing their mission. The task is physically doable by anyone, but the psychological strain in a dark tight space sometimes proves a formidable challenge for some team members. The way underground starts here…

One must believe in the impossible and cross a spot that at first seems impervious. The underground galleries help a team build its motivation. Congratulations between colleagues after everyone has passed the challenge reveal the positive impact of the adventure programme.

The team then moves on through the canyon of the Prohodna Cave (The Passage). The group must climb a rocky threshold where all participants are tied to a line and must climb in sync with their colleagues. At the end of this challenge they will find further instructions, which describe the next goal and give a clue to the final puzzle.

The participants will have to find the landmark Oknata, which is a vital point of reference for moving on with the game. That landmark is in the Prohodna Cave galleries admitting natural daylight. More climbing will be required in order to get further instructions. Every participant will have to crawl up to the top of a steep rock and all other team members will have to hold on tight to the ropes to secure the climber. The level of difficulty is for people without previous climbing experience. Now “one’s life is in the hands of the others”.

To be continued…
