Hristo Hristov is the author and executive producer of the movies of Alpine club Edelweiss. He is born in 1969. Practices alpinism, speleology, rafting and mountain biking, free style skiing… Behind the camera gets for the first time in 1996. The debut is “Terra Incognita”. The subject of the movie is the longest cave in Bulgaria, located in Vitosha. Movie is made in cooperation with BNT. An injury of the chief camera man in one of the underground galleries during the pictures, gives Hristo a chance to finish the video production as a camera man. This unexpected task, which requires filming in hard terrain is the beginning of about 60 documentaries on mountains and adventures, realized by club Edelweiss between 1998 and 2008. In accordance to their format, year of production and their producers, the movies were broadcasted many times on: BNT, NovaTV, bTV, TV-Seven days, RING TV, SKAT, DEMO and Bulgarian Satellite Channel. Two of the documentary movies are awarded with international awards for mountain cinema. During the summer of 2003, out team, in cooperation with colleagues from First Channel of the Russian national TV, realize the series “Traveller’s Club”. Separate episodes of some of our movies are being used in a movie for the Bulgarian traditions of the German TV – ARD. Since 2002, in cooperation with RING TV we are realizing the film series Vertical Frontier.
